Artsy Fartsy

Speaking of all the art and such I have been doing lately, upon request by Mom here are some pictures of the art (unfinished) that has been occupying my time.

Some pencil sketches...

Here are some paintings...

A close up of the painting above.

This was a photo I took printed out on thick paper and then painted on top of.

And this is the computer edited version.

Here are some collages...

This is a collage and then paint around it.

And there ya have it.

The other day Kevin and I went to the market to sell my postcards and play some music. Afterward we went to a free show under the Space Needle. This adorable little boy (and I wont say that often about small children) came over and opened up Kev's guitar case and pulled out the guitar like he knew what he was doing. Luckily your resident photographer and documenter snapped a quick pic.

Awwwww.
Such a natural.

Just Bragging

Last night the sky was absolutely amazing. Chris and I were downtown on the waterfront luckily.

This was a fest downtown on the waterfront. Lot of peoples.

This is from Carkeek Park which is north of downtown on the Sound.

Another beautiful sunset.

Just wanted to rub it in how awesome it is here.

Selling Art

My latest creative venture has been making postcards. I printed out some of my digital pictures I have taken around Seattle since I moved here, on matte paper with a white border. I glued some card stock to the back, stamped it with a postcard stamp and drew lines for an address. Finished it off with a little EM signature the bottom. Prestamped, handmade, local artist postcards $2.

The people I have shown, like my roommates and coworkers said they look amazing and I feel great about the product I made.

So yesterday I took a little set up along with my postcards and a sign and set up shop around the Pike Place Market, a huge tourism area where lots of local artists, musicians, and street performers express themselves on street corners. I am finally one of them.

I sold 6 postcards from about noon to 4. But more than that I grew up a bit. Grew a little more confident in myself and my potential. I have never felt more like myself. I am proud.

This is the second area I set up, down by the waterfront piers and aquarium. The first was a grassy area by the market where I seemed to get more bums that just wanted to chit chat which maybe took away from some customers. I did learn of a artist gathering at a place called First Thursday downtown where artists can bring their stuff and show it off kinda like a gallery just not as official.
I think if I get downtown earlier next time, like around 10, more people will be walking around with their wallets out, throwing money at people. That seems to be the etiquette of tourists around these parts.

Gemstone rings, patches of screen printed images, and headbands are the future projects in the works.

The Pier

And I'll leave you all with this, the new edition to the body. A little peach, my heart, my home, my roots, forever and always.
