Today is my last day of setting up my room, which is coming along beautifully. Lucky me on Saturday stumbled across an estate sale, where everything in a huge old 3 story house was for sale. And cheap too. I crossed off half the things on my "things to get for my new room" list. I got alot of baskets and wrapped scarves around them to hold my make-up jewerly and things. I got wooden hangers and used a piece of curvy bamboo from in the basement as the rod. I got a waterfall rock garden, the tiny kind that create a light trickling sound. A big round mirror that fits perfectly between the 2 shelves above my dresser. 2 handmade clay soup mugs. A stiff old brown traveling bag, for when I go shopping I put my purchases in the bag so I dont use plastic shopping bags. An old style glass Coke bottle that I put one curvy piece of bamboo. A tiny wooden elephant from Thailand, and an elephant shaped pot for a plant. A couple old postcards with pictures from YellowStone from the 50's. And an old Miller High Life tshirt for sleeping. All of this for $40.

Today I get a bus pass, personal heater, feather blanket, and powerstrips. Also I am going to check out the Goodwill, which rumor has it, is like 3 huge warehouses put together of the best goodwill things. Hopefully they will have everything I need. If not, theres always Target.

Yesterday while walking around the neighborhood with the roomie, we walked down into the park, which is about 4 tiny blocks always and stretches more than a mile long. Never have I seen more trees in a park in a city. Once you step through the trees its like you have traveled back in Jurassic Park time with thousands of green ferns and the tallest trees, and the orange and yellow leaf covered forest floor. There were actually a bunch of people playing Dungeons and Dragons, which made everything seem even older and I couldnt help but laugh. But I can kind of understand how fun it would be to play in that forest, Im thinking I would play Indians. There was a little creek that flowed through the middle that had a little wooden bridge and a huge rock that looks like it was put there just for sitting by the water and relaxing. Roomie says that in the summer people just lay all over the green area and sun bath just like its a California beach.

Job hunt starts tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Good luck on your job hunt! I'm sure you'll find a great one that fits you just right. Things have been crazy here with school and everything. I'm glad to be living vicariously through you and your adventures.
