Discovery Park and today

This is Discovery Park. I think the more appropriate name is Treasure Beach. I found the most beautiful collection of rocks and shells that I ever could have imagined. I am not exaggerating, I found 5 spiral shells each unique, the smoothest black rock, a rock that is just begging me to make a necklace out of it, a piece of drift wood that is in the exact same shape as a plastic finger that lingers around the house, and a piece of drift wood that looks like a womans body. This park is on a point, alittle north of the city.

Mt. Rainier.

The lighthouse on the point.

Dem bones, dem bones.

Look closer. Its a gila monster.

Now starts pictures from today. Spent in the sunny spots and shade of Ravenna Park.

Texture

Today I realized that there is a whole side to the park near my house that I hadnt explored until today. It was a real epiphany moment. The beauty that lies on the other side of the bridge that was there all along I just had not yet ventured made me think of all the others things I think I have explored but have only scratched the surface.

And then I found it. The most perfect spot I could ever find within the most perfect place of the park, a hillside where 4 trees stand tall with roots reaching down as stairs inviting me up.

This is where I sat all afternoon, hidden away.

I named the four trees FIRE, WATER, AIR, and EARTH.
Fire tree was struck by lightening and is partially hollow.
Water tree is merged with fire but sticking far out of the hill.
Air tree is their lovechild that is the tallest and comes out from their base.
And Earth tree creates the steps with its roots which makes it all possible for me to sit where they all come together.

The End

I am speechless except to say, “Good luck!”… and… “Have you seen the movie, Into The Wild”?
