HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I am excited for tonight, I am going out with the roomies to a good show with lots of costumes and dancing. If you know me, you know how last minute I am, meaning I have to yet to even think of a costume. I am just going to go to the thrift store and see what I can piece together.

I am sitting in a bagel shop 2 blocks from my new house. They have free wifi and good coffee, which is good on this rainy day. I think the rainy season has begun. Today I have to get good boots and some decor for my room.

Yesterday I got some maroon sheets and a white fake fur blanket, that kept me pretty warm last night. I guess the little heater set only on my face helped too. My color scheme is going to be maroons and gold. The room came with the queen size bed and a 70's pattern yellow and gold couch. Im thinking a Moroccan style. The ceiling is low and easy to hang things from, which seems to be my favor type of decor, hanging things. I cant wait to get so crafty, I have so many ideas piled up in my head I think it will keep me busy all winter long. Along with the great book collection these guys have.

Last night I sat by the big fire in the living room and read my book while I listened to the roomies play old Neil Young and Pink Floyd songs on guitar and violin. They are very talented and willing to teach. They have so many instruments all throughout the house, so many strings from guitar to mandolin to violin and more, also many African style drums, there is a small one in my room, so I am going to practice my rhythm, also these types of drums are used often in meditation, creating a steady beat to center your mind.

I got a bank account at Bank of America and there is literally one on every corner, just like Starbucks and Subway. Also walking distance of the house, in all different directions there are: 2 bookstores, one used one new, yoga/meditation, a few traditional indian cuisine restuarants, more coffee shops than you can imagine, pizza place, fruit/veggie market open daily (that is hiring, Im going to grab an app), 4 little vintage clothing stores (maybe more thats all I have seen so far), and a couple used furniture stores. This is all within 7 short blocks of walking. About 15 minutes walk is the Ave which has the mainstream vintage clothing stores and restuarants and records stores and knick knack stores. My adventure today is to conquor the Ave. Nick the roomie says they just opened a goodwill down there too!

Life couldnt get any better. Rent is going to be cheaper than I expected, and they only want a $100 deposit so I have atleast 3 months of rent saved already.

This life I am establishing here is going to be so good for me I can feel it. I am already having to manage my time more wisely due to relying on the buses. There are certain times certain buses go certain places. It takes alot of planning on my part. But it is making me feel accomplished and responsible. I am feeling so grown up because I am figuring everything out on my own. These are my decisions and my consequences. My soul is rejuvenated and I am feeling better than I ever have. My mind is clear and my heart is open.

I cannot wait until I get a camera so pictures can be back up.
Love you all.

Sounds like everything is falling into place nicely. Can't wait to see more pictures. Sounds like the guys you are rooming with are pretty neat. Maybe you can get into the "groove" with them and make a YouTube recording for us to see? Music is food for the soul... and Zero calories too!
